Wenham, Massachusetts. -- With Xiang Li from New Milford, Connecticut, Xue Zhan (Jimmy) and his wife Xiaoli Qian, his son Abraham from Long Island, New York, the annual Boston 818 New Year Party became a Northeast 818 New Year Party. The only 818 member in the northeast missing this event is Jianjun Liu who went back to motherland to take care of his hospitalized father in law. Xiang's wife Jie (815) could not come due to a business meeting in Arizona.
The party took place on Saturday January 3 at 15R Juniper Street, Wenham, Massachusetts, a house on a conservation land 20 miles northeast of Boston. The other participants are all 818 members of the Breater Boston Area: Qiang Lu and and his wife Wei Wen from Brookline, Xiaoyan Mo, her husband Tao Wang and her son Daniel from Worcester, Hong Zhang from Wenham. They started to arrive at the party place from 17:00 in exactly the reverse order of their driving distances.
Everyone brought yummy food or drink to share, together they made Chinese dumplings and enjoyed them by a fireplace. As always in such 818 events, talk and information exchange are the main theme. Qiang and Wei proudly briefed the 808-818-929 mega-reunion according to the request by others who restated their regrets and "execuses" for not attending the mega-reunion. The other topics include career, family, business, justice, politics....
Xiang officially proposed the first 818 Northeast Reunion hosted by him and Jie and got uninamous support immediately. After half an hour discussion, they set the attentative date on Sunday May 24, 1998. They are calling all 818 members for participation.
They missed the former 818 Bostonians who left in the past one year. They expect this annual event will last for one or two more years, then Hong will be the only lonely 818 member in this area.
The party ended at about midnight, but they still
had a lot to talk. They look forward to reuming their unfinished
talks at the coming 818 Northeast Reunion.
